Creating a Culture of Consent

Since 2020, TIAA has worked on a number of issues regarding sexual misconduct and Title IX in the Cambridge School District. We believe that policy changes must always come hand in hand with dialogue and education.

Athlete Consent Workshops

Establishing consent in already formed communities.

TIAA partners with the Athletic Director Tom Arria to ensure that every student athlete at CRLS participates in a yearly concent curriculum. These workshops are co-facilitated by team captains who receive training to maximise engagement participation from teams. We are grateful to have been recognized by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association as recipients of the Mickey Sullivan “Student Achievement Award” for contributions to higher athletics.

Know Your Rights Presentation

Rights only exist if we know about them

Part of our commitment to education and policy has facilitated Know Your Rights Presentations. Students’ and community members’ knowledge of Title IX and the rights it protects creates community enforcement where policy does not reach or falls short. In addition to workshops and presentations, we have collaborated on infographics and sought to increase accessibility to often dense legal language.

Collaboration and Partners

TIAA is always looking to partner with school or community organizations to host events, conversations, or collaborations. If you are interested in partnering, please reach out on our contact us page!
